About the Cover
Neural markers for sorting of human embryonic stem cell (hESC)-derived differentiated neuronal cell types: fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) for neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM) for in vitro and in vivo proof-of-principle studies. Grafts (left frame) consisted of neural cells positive for a human specific NCAM antibody (Eric-1), confirming survival in the brain of FACS-sorted, hESC-derived neuronal cells after transplantation. A cluster of hESC-derived neural cells in culture (day 30 in vitro; right frame) displays cellular heterogeneity. See Pruszak et al. beginning on page 2257.
